The reasons for departure
"The best country in the world", why would you ever want to leave?
The most frequently cited reasons why Canada doesn't seem so great after all...
1 - Housing problems
2 - So little culture
3 - All the poverty
4 - The rickety infrastructure
All kinds of reasons
There are people who moved to Canada knowing beforehand that it would only be for a certain number of years. Some of them stayed; others left more or less according to plan.
A frequently heard underlying reason is that people are moving again for a job or business. Sometimes they want to care for a family member. Perhaps it's for the children to be able to attend a different school.
There are plenty of reasons to stay or leave. Generally, when people do leave Canada, several reasons converge.

And then there's also such a thing as "homesickness." What can that do to you, and how do you cope with it?
Many people are not affected by it at all and may not even understand the problem.
Yet, there are people who can't come to terms with their homesickness. It can even become so severe that homesickness becomes a major issue in their lives.
Homesickness can therefore become a factor in the decision to remigrate. Even if homesickness is a problem for only one person in a group, it can force a decision to move.
In other words, apart from the clear and rather hard facts from the group of reasons for remigration, the issue of homesickness can also play a major role.
From a scientific perspective, homesickness is quite difficult to define. We've written a feature article about it.
